Summertime travel is upon us. Beach-front resorts or camping in the mountains may be the ideal of some vacationers, but for those coming to New Orleans, staying in a boutique hotel is a special treat.
The Ace Hotel New Orleans opened in spring 2016 and has become a hot spot for travelers and locals alike. It was even rated on the “Best New Hotels in the World: Hot List 2017” by Condé Nast Traveler.
The 234-room hotel is located in an Art Deco building at 600 Carondelet Street in the Warehouse District. It’s an easy walk to the French Quarter, Julia Street art galleries and museums, but also includes its own on-site entertainment and restaurants.
Alto is the hotel’s rooftop pool and garden. The rooftop bar specializes in seasonal and classic cocktails, and the small plates on the menu change with the availability of local ingredients. Whether you are there day or night (or both), the views of New Orleans are unlike that of a typical postcard.
Seaworthy is one of the restaurants in the hotel and it’s divine. The happy hour happens twice a day Monday to Friday, first from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and then again from 11:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. They specialize in wild-caught, sustainably harvested oysters from the Gulf Coast, East Coast and West Coast. Their cocktail menu is also well curated and their main dishes include a mix of seafood traditions. Order the crawfish roll, their take on a lobster roll with crawfish tails instead. Heck, you’re on vacation, order two.
Three Keys is the performance venue at Ace Hotel and this weekend brings four free shows: Friday has Dash Rip Rock; Saturday is Nikki Hill & Friends; Sunday has two shows including Saints & Sinners Sunday Swing with Bon Bon Vivant & Friends, and the Moonshine Taste with Nicole Lynn and the Moonshine Players; and Memorial Day offers Smooth Sailing, a yacht rock DJ set.
Now guests can book rooms for Memorial Day weekend and through the summer at special rates:
- Discounted rates starting at $119 a night are available with the code HEAT. The code takes 20 percent off weekday bookings and 15 percent off weekend bookings.
- There is also a special code for this weekend and the Bayou Country Superfest (May 26, 27 and 28). Guests simply need to add the code 1705COUNTRY when making their reservation.
- Additionally, the hotel just kicked off their summer sale, "A Sunset in Every City." Ace Hotel New Orleans will be offering nightly weekday (Sunday–Thursday) rates of $199 for Medium or Double rooms and nightly weekend (Friday–Saturday) rates of $169 for Medium rooms and $209 for Double rooms for stays between May 29–September 28. Book with code HOTTOMATO from May 15 through May 29. With this offer, guests get guaranteed free admission for two to the shows at Three Keys, complete with Mezzanine viewing access.
