Academic Director of Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle Orleans Honored by (French Ministry of National Education

NEW ORLEANS – Pierre-Loïc Denichou, academic director of Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle Orleans, was named a Chevalier (knight) of the Odre des Palmes Académiques (The Order of the Academic Palms).

This award, given directly by the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale (French Ministry of National Education), recognizes French and foreign recipients living outside of France for their dedication to actively expanding French education and culture throughout the world. Having been created by Napoleon I in 1808, this award is the oldest non-military French decoration. The honor was conferred in a ceremony held at the Residence of France on the evening of Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

Founded in 1998, Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans serves more than 310 students from eighteen months of age through eighth grade. Ecole Bilingue follows the French National Curriculum and is the only private French school in New Orleans that is accredited by the French Ministry of Education.
