NEW ORLEANS – On Saturday, November 14, 2015, the AC Hotel, 221 Carondelet St., hosted their 2nd “Night of Art and Fashion,” an invitation only private event that showcased:
• Two fashion shows by Karelle Levy, or KRELwear, featuring pieces from Karelle’s original line and her DiscGlow “glow-in-the-dark” line.
• Original art by Nicole Touchet of Galerie Touchet. The abstract series was inspired by the KREL designs as well as the AC Hotel, and were made specifically for this event, A percentage of silent auction art sales will be donated to the Global Empowerment Mission school in Haiti.
• Music during the event was provided by Carneyval (William Carney) with Martin Carney and national recording artist G. Love (Garrett Dutton, of G Love and Special Sauce).
• Specialty Cocktails were created by the AC Hotel’s lead mixologist Cassie Hesse, and included:
A Currant Affair: Black Currant infused Bombay Sapphire, lavender-chamomile syrup, lemon, soda, and lavender bitters.
Miami Glow: Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Oakheart, lime, orgeat(almond based syrup), blue Curaçao. ( Play on a Mai Tai, that glows in the dark)
Lolo's DTO: ( Daiquiri Time Out) Bacardi Superior, G-Love's LoLo sauce, pineapple, lime, coconut nectar
The AC Hotel is planning to host quarterly events to showcase their dedication to the city and its appreciation for New Orleans’ rich culture and history.
