BATON ROUGE – The ABC Merit PAC and the ABC Pelican PAC announced the endorsement of Sen. David Vitter for governor of Louisiana.
The Merit PAC and Pelican PAC are the Political Action Committees for the two chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) located in Louisiana. ABC represents over 700 member companies in Louisiana, with a combined workforce of over 100,000.
Chairman of the ABC Pelican PAC Joe Wiley said, “Sen. Vitter has been a reliable defender of the Merit Shop Philosophy in Louisiana and has the votes to prove it. He continually supports the Louisiana construction industry—specifically our efforts to strengthen workforce development. Sen. Vitter understands the correlation between having a qualified and skilled workforce and the future economic development and long term success of our state.”
Philip W. Rebowe, Chairman of the ABC Merit PAC, said “Sen. Vitter is a proven leader for our industry and a vital part of our state’s economic well-being. We are certain that he will continue his push to maintain a friendly environment, under which our industry and the state of Louisiana will thrive.”
Wiley said, “We look forward to working with Senator Vitter during his campaign to make certain he receives the necessary backing from our industry.”
The ABC Merit PAC is the Political Action Committee of the New Orleans/ Bayou Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. and the ABC Pelican PAC is the Political Action Committee of the Pelican Chapter of ABC.
