BATON ROUGE – The Pelican Chapter, Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.’s Industrial Contractors Council announced the appointment of Kathleen Carpenter as the Interim Director of Education at the Pelican Chapter, Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Baton Rouge campus.
Carpenter has served in various capacities at the ABC training facilities for 11 years, most recently serving as the Director of Training Center Administration under David Alexander, who was recently appointed as Superintendent of Education for Ascension Parish.
Carpenter assumed her new role just in time to face the recent flooding event that put almost two feet of water into all of the buildings on ABC’s Highland Road Campus. With her leadership, the campus was stabilized and conditioned to allow classes to resume on August 29, two short weeks after flood waters closed the school, ABC reps said.
The Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) was incorporated in 1980 and has grown to over 500 members, covering 52 parishes in Louisiana. It is a statewide, diverse, non-profit, trade association of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and associates who have joined together to advance the construction industry by aggressively supporting their mission, to promote and protect the Merit Shop Philosophy and the principles of the free enterprise system in the construction industry, ABC reps said.
