On June 1, chef, cookbook author and restaurant owner Leah Chase passed away at the age of 96. As word spread, so did the outpouring of sadness from throughout the community.  “Her contributions to the New Orleans tourism industry will leave an impact on our great city for future generations,” noted President and CEO of New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation Mark Romig. “A legend, an icon, an inspiration,” said New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell. “‘Mrs. Leah,’ as she was known to all who knew her and many who didn’t, was a true leader,” said Loyola President Tania Tetlow. Here’s to you Mrs. Leah, you truly perfected the recipe for success.
