NEW ORLEANS – Team up with Core Element and presenting sponsor Schlumberger for the seventh annual Strike for STEM fundraising event on Saturday, Oct. 21, at Rock n’ Bowl, 3016 S. Carrolton Ave., from 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The annual benefit features an exciting night of bowling, food and cocktails, dancing and music by The Benchwarmers, organizers said.
“Core Element brings innovative, hands-on STEM learning to area classrooms by providing training, content, resources and support for science and math teachers,” said Jan Brenan, executive director of Core Element. “When teachers enhance their STEM knowledge and have the tools they need to be confident and creative in the classroom, students become actively engaged in the learning process. The result is increased student interest, participation and proficiency in STEM subjects.”
Individual Strike for STEM tickets are $50 per person in advance ($60 at the door) and include food, drink and live entertainment. Team sponsorships are also available and include team entry into the Strike for STEM bowling competition.
All proceeds from the night benefit Core Element and support STEM education – science, technology, engineering and math – for teachers and students.
Organizers said Strike for STEM is possible with the support of presenting sponsor Schlumberger and sponsors including: Nick & Amy Altiero, American Petroleum Institute, Antares Technology Solutions, Boh Bros., Iberia Bank, Laitram, LLC, Lockheed Martin, MS Benbow & Associates, Ochsner Health System Academic Outreach, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Delta Section, IEEE New Orleans, LLOG, Maria & David Huete, OCS BBS, Norma Jean Mattei & Family, Southeast Geophysical Society and Barker Honda.
