NEW ORLEANS – Representatives from London and the former Lord Mayor of Westminster will present the 610 Stompers with a formal invitation to participate in London New Year’s Day Parade.
The event takes place tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at Happy’s Irish Pub, 1009 Poydras St., New Orleans.
The 610 Stompers are an all-male dance organization with a mission of giving back to the community through dance and entertainment. The group is 80 members strong of “Ordinary Men” of all ages and professions dedicated to entertaining the world with “Extraordinary Moves.”
The dance troupe is a featured performer in many parades, professional sporting events and special events and fundraisers in the greater New Orleans area and beyond.
The Stompers will be raising funds to subsidize their trip to London.
London’s New Year’s Day Parade is one of the world’s great street spectaculars with up to 10,000 performers from across continents, hundreds of thousands of spectators and a TV audience of several hundred million.
