NEW ORLEANS – The 610 Stompers will hold their 5th Annual Sweet 610 Debutante Ball fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight at Mardi Gras World, 1380 Port of New Orleans Place.
The 610 Stompers will dance their golden shoes off at the “Superball” themed event in homage to 80s Superheros to benefit the Youth Empowerment Project.
Since 2004, the Youth Empowerment Project has been impacting the Greater New Orleans area. Their mission reads, “By providing intensive case management, mentoring and educational services to at-risk New Orleans youth, we will strengthen each young person’s capacity to successfully connect with his or her family and community and lay the foundation for a healthy transition to adulthood.”
Eighties Superhero attire is strongly encouraged and Stompers fans should rest assured that all genres of their favorite 80s tunes will be heard.
“We endorse, encourage and love all forms of dance and hope that New Orleanians will bust a move for a great cause,” 610 Stompers Executive Director Mont Creamer said. “You’ll get to see the 610 Stompers’ 2015 dance moves for the very first time. Most importantly, this year’s proceeds will benefit the Youth Empowerment Project.”
The price of admission includes food from more than 25 local restaurants, open bar, entertainment, a special superhero party favor, costume contest and dance-offs galore with fellow 80s enthusiasts and the 610 Stompers extraordinaire.
