NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Four suspects are now in custody in connection with a string of armed robberies that terrorized patrons of upscale restaurants and bars in uptown New Orleans last year.
The robberies happened last August and September. Indictments of four people were announced this week.
The robberies happened in usually quiet neighborhoods and involved groups of masked, armed men forcing their way into the businesses and holding up patrons. Police say the investigation is continuing.
Three of the suspects were in custody when the indictments were announced. A fourth turned himself in on Thursday.
