The New Orleans Mission is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, recovery, re-engagement, and reunification of people facing homelessness, addiction, human trafficking, abuse, or mental illness.
Driven by a deep commitment to compassion and service, The New Orleans Mission works alongside those in need, demonstrating unconditional care and support for everyone on their path toward a stable, fulfilling, and addiction-free life. Serving all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender, The New Orleans Mission is more than a provider of food, clothing, and shelter. It offers specialized programs that guide clients through addiction recovery, societal reentry, and vocational training to help them rebuild their lives through structured support, mentorship, and community.
“When someone walks into our facility needing help or when we rescue someone from a dangerous place, we don’t see a homeless person or an addict. We see a human being who is hurting,” says David Bottner, CEO of the New Orleans Mission.
The New Orleans Mission offers many options to address the unique needs of those it serves: whether a person comes as a guest to stay in our shelter or decides to commit to a year-long recovery and life-skills program. The Shelter stay provides immediate relief and shelter with no questions asked. The year-long program allows clients to pursue a more extensive recovery, completely free of charge. Services include food, clothing, shelter, mentorship, one-on-one counseling, vocational training, case management, and opportunities for reunification with family members.
