To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. At Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans (JAGNO), we are committed to giving students opportunity-filled futures.
During the 2024-2025 school year, Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans reached 40,080 students in 157 schools. JA programs are taught by volunteers throughout 13 parishes in Louisiana and 29 counties in Mississippi. Coming from all walks of life, these nearly 600 unique volunteers form the backbone of the organization.
Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans is proud to announce its one millionth student: Tarrel Brooks, a Junior at Frederick A. Douglass High School. This milestone represents decades of impact and marks the beginning of the next million students whose lives will be changed through JA.
“One million is more than a milestone; it’s a movement,” says Larry Washington, President of JAGNO, “Together, we can ensure that JA remains a powerful force for economic empowerment for years to come.”
HOW TO HELP
Junior Achievement provides several ways that you can get involved, whether you’re someone looking to volunteer, part of a district or school looking for educational materials, or part of a business looking to help us expand the reach of our mission. Volunteering with JA is not only fun, but great professional development – providing real-life experience and knowledge to the students we work with from Kindergarten through age 25.
