Jefferson Community Foundation

The Jefferson Community Foundation exists to advance philanthropy, leadership, civic action, and innovation in Jefferson Parish.

Founded in 2008 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Jefferson Community Foundation (JCF) was created to help connect the power of philanthropy with the evolving needs of Jefferson Parish. Today, JCF serves as the parish’s nonprofit community foundation, bringing together donors, businesses, nonprofits, and civic leaders to address critical community priorities. Through grant making, donor-advised funds, and collaborative initiatives, the Foundation works to strengthen the quality of life across Jefferson Parish.

A key focus of JCF is early childhood education. Through its partnership with the Jefferson Ready Start Network, JCF helps expand access to high-quality early learning, with local contributions matched dollar-for-dollar by the Louisiana Early Childhood Education Fund. JCF leads programs such as Jefferson Community Youth Leadership and the Jefferson Parish Senior Expo, while also bringing people together for thoughtful conversations that strengthen civil discourse and help build a healthier, more equitable community. Looking ahead, the Foundation is advancing plans for an aquatics center on the Westbank to support swim education, first responder training, and regional athletic competitions.
