Gallo Mechanical: Giving Back 2025

Katie Baumer, Director of Project Administration, is a Fourth Generation Gallo leader and through her work and in her community engagement Katie embraces Gallo Mechanical’s values: Family, Service, Performance.

Over the last 6 years, Katie has worked to support the St. Michael Special School, a school that educates students age six through adulthood with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  The school is unique in that it provides for the development of the whole child—academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually—regardless of his or her disability.

Katie and a team of volunteers put on the Annual Bowling Tournament, held at Fulton Alley, which has become a cornerstone fundraiser for the school.  The event draws participation from the school community and the larger New Orleans community as teams battle it out on the Alley, bid for fantastic silent auction items, and connect with students in the classroom and during the event itself.  This year, they raised over $120,000.

When asked about her philanthropic work, Katie said, “At Gallo Mechanical, it’s not ‘if’ we will support a cause, it’s how and ways in which the company can be involved.  It’s who we are.”

Gallo Mechanical is the leading mechanical construction and service provider from Houston to the Gulf South and throughout the Carolinas. Gallo is committed to celebrating its employees’ commitment to their communities through selfless philanthropic outreach.

Beau Martin, VP of Business Development, has been with Gallo Mechanical for the last 3 years.  As a sales leader and team builder, Beau takes his skills and commitment to helping others build opportunities and create supports to his personal life as well.  Beau is a mentor with Son of a Saint, a nonprofit organization established in 2011, focused on a deep commitment to change lives, rooted in providing mentorship and opportunities to

boys who have lost their fathers.  Over the last decade, Beau has mentored 3 boys, now a college Junior and two High School Seniors

“They are part of my family,” says Beau. “I am so proud of the young men they have become and the opportunities they have in front of them.”

In 2018, Beau was honored as the New Orleans Man of the Year for his work and dedication to his family and his community.  When Beau joined Gallo, he shared his commitment to community engagement and support of Son of a Saint with his new team and Gallo’s leadership.  Gallo is proud to have employees like Beau and is also honored to support Beau in helping others through donations of time and talent.

Gallo is inspired by our employees’ commitment to making their communities better, stronger, healthier, and happier.  Beau and Katie are wonderful examples of living our historical values, and we, as a company, are proud to support them and the causes close to their hearts.  We hope their stories of community engagement inspire other companies and their employees, too.
