2019 YLC Wednesday at the Square Concert Series Kicks Off on March 20

NEW ORLEANS – The Young Leadership Council (YLC) and AOS Interior Environments will kick off the 2019 Wednesday at the Square concert series with bands Big Sam’s Funky Nation and RumpleSTEELskin, featuring Ed Williams of the Revivalists. YLC’s annual spring concert series runs for 10 weeks and serves as a fundraiser for the organization’s volunteer-led community service projects.

The events takes place on Wednesdays, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., from March 20 to May 22, in Lafayette Square in the Central Business District.

Proceeds from food and drink sales at Wednesday at the Square benefit YLC’s community service projects, which are designed to improve the quality of life in the Greater New Orleans area and foster leadership skills in young professionals.

This year’s food vendors include Ajun Cajun, Fogo De Chao, Magazine Pizza, Mona's, Frey Smoked Meat Company, Manning's Sports Bar and Grill, Jambalaya Guy, Zippy Fruit, Let Us Cater For You LLC, Imperial Woodpecker Sno-Balls, Crêpes à la Cart and Oceana Grill.

Participating art vendors include Coralie Jewelry, soren VANDEGAARD, BitLu Boutique, Still Waters Jewelry, Bywater Clothing, Joshua Lee Studio, 1 of 1 Blazers, Valois Designs, Arts Kinetic, NOLA Silver, Passion Lilie and Jane Brewster.

Also, on May 1, Young Leadership Council and Greater New Orleans Foundation will co-host Get Down & GiveNOLA at Wednesday at the Square, in support of GiveNOLA Day the following week on May 7. GiveNOLA Day is a 24-hour event hosted by the Greater New Orleans Foundation to inspire people to give generously to nonprofits making the region stronger. At giving stations located throughout Lafayette Square, concert goers will be able to pre-schedule GiveNOLA Day donations and learn more about this important initiative.
