MANDEVILLE, LA – The St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation (STEDF) Board of Directors plays a leading, proactive role in STEDF’s strategic decision making and assists in cultivating relationships with the organization’s key stakeholders. The Board of Directors works to fulfill STEDF’s mission of promoting a growing and vibrant economy in St. Tammany.
In service of that mission, the Board of Directors voted two new members onto the 2017 board: Al Hamauei, vice president in commercial banking for First Bank & Trust, and Dave Mannella, president of Money Hill Plantation.
These two business and community advocates join an influential board of St. Tammany Parish thought leaders, STEDF reps said.
Officers for the 2017 STEDF Board of Directors include Shelby LaSalle as chair, Eric Schouest as chair-elect, John Ammerman as treasurer and Peter Link as secretary. Directors include Nixon Adams, Martin Bruno, Bruce Clement, Marty Mayer and Stuart McAvoy.
•Al Hamauei
Hamauei has lived in Lacombe for nearly 45 years, and he served on the St. Tammany Parish Council for District 7 from 2006-2012. Hamauei developed significant financial knowledge over an impressive career in banking and in real estate appraising and brokerage. He has served as chairman on a variety of boards, including the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, the St. Tammany Homebuilders Charitable Trust, the United Way of St. Tammany and Slidell Memorial Hospital, while participating in many other boards including the Northshore Homebuilders Association, the Community Action Committee, the St. Tammany Parish Zoning Commission, Friends of the Harbor Center and the United Way of New Orleans.

With 34 years of leadership and management experience, Mannella’s proven record of establishing strategic directions and leading high-performance teams makes him an innovative, dedicated and highly-effective executive. He guided several businesses to success from executive and managerial positions. His affiliations include serving as the chairman of the boards for Slidell Memorial Hospital, the St. Tammany Parish Planning and Zoning Commission and the Slidell Symphony Society. He also served on boards for the New Orleans Board of Trade, the Louisiana International Deep Water Gulf Transfer Terminal Authority, the World Trade Center of New Orleans and Slidell Community Playground, among others.
STEDF leads economic development in St. Tammany Parish, attracting new businesses and employment opportunities to the area. The organization seeks to improve parish residents’ quality of life by strengthening and supporting the business climate, STEDF reps said.
