2 Arrested For Operating Sex Brothel In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Two people have been arrested for allegedly operating a brothel and unlicensed bar in New Orleans.

Louisiana State Police say 39-year-old Roxana Flores-Rodriguez, of El Salvador, and 36-year-old Jose Jaimes-Meza, of Mexico, were arrested Tuesday. They face charges of promoting prostitution, pandering, money laundering and operation of places of prostitution.

Senior Trooper Melissa Matey, in a news release Thursday, said both suspects are in the country illegally.

Matey says during an investigation related to narcotics distribution detectives found that Rodriguez and Meza were operating the illegal businesses. A search of a home found one sex worker and evidence indicating the brothel had been running since at least May 2015. Detectives believe that at least 10 other sex workers serviced the brothel since that time.
