$1M Clinic Still Sits Empty

STONEWALL, LA (AP) — More than $1 million taxpayer dollars are invested in a health care clinic sitting empty for more than a year in Stonewall south of Shreveport. And it's uncertain exactly when the doors will open.

Vickie Welborn with The Shreveport Times reports construction of the North DeSoto Rural Health Care Clinic was completed last summer with a targeted opening date in the fall. That didn't happen though after a physician and pharmacist initially contracted to operate the facility backed out.

Clinic board director Pat Bradford says he's just as disappointed as the public that the facility is not up and running.
