COVINGTON, La. (press release) — The St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce recognized outstanding businesses in St. Tammany at its 21st annual Business Appreciation Luncheon, presented by Gulf States Bank & Trust Company and sponsored by Humana and Inside Northside, on Nov. 16 at Benedict’s in Mandeville. Fifteen businesses were honored in nine categories.
“There is no better time of year than the month of November to recognize hard working, persevering business owners and their employees who contribute to the quality of life in St. Tammany Parish,” said St. Tammany Chamber CEO Lacey Osborne.
The “Golden Spoon Award” is given to a restaurant or caterer that excels in customer service, top-notch food service and goes above and beyond for their patrons. The recipients are Desi Vega’s Steakhouse in Covington, Triple Nickel Grill in Madisonville, Liz’s Where Y’at Diner in Mandeville and Gallagher’s on Front Street in Slidell.
The “All-in-the-Family Award” honors a successful family-owned business establishment. The award is shared by Wayne Songy & Associates and 110 Title.
The “Out-of-the-Gate Running Award” recognizes a business that has successfully been in business for less than three years and positively contributes to the community. The recipient is Sirincci Coffee Company.
The “Go Give Award” celebrates a company that encourages employee involvement in the community, whether it is by giving either time or money to worthy causes. The recipient is AVALA.
The “Site-to-See Award” recognizes a business whose location enhances the appearance of their community. Recipients are St. John Village in Covington, The Greystone in Mandeville and the Slidell Historical Antique Association in Slidell.
The “Service with a Smile Award” celebrates a company known for its outstanding customer service. The recipient is PUSH Design Group.
The “Innovation Award” is given to a company demonstrating an “out-of-the-box” thinking and creative approach to any and all aspects of its business. The recipient is CASPR Technologies.
The “Tammany Proud Award” honors a business that continuously fosters a positive image of St. Tammany Parish while doing work outside of our region. The recipient is St. Tammany Cancer Center—A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center.
The “Legacy Award” celebrates a thriving business that has been in operation for more than 20 years and has made a long-term commitment to preserving the integrity and character of St. Tammany Parish. The recipient is MECO.
