Louisiana’s Got Talent, a Small Business Exposition, Happens on Thursday

NEW ORLEANS –– The Louisiana Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG Louisiana) will host the fifth annual Louisiana’s Got Talent, a small business exposition, on Thursday, Nov. 29, at Harrah’s New Orleans Hotel, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. The free expo offers an opportunity for a select number of the region’s small businesses to showcase their talents and expertise. It also offers exhibitors the chance to meet with procurement officers from some of New Orleans’ top companies.

Exhibitors represent some of the outstanding talent listed on ACG Louisiana's Excellent Small Business list. The list is an integrated referral network of businesses that are small within their industry, but have a strong track record of producing high-quality goods and services; and, they have shown the desire and capacity to grow.

Nearly 60 small businesses will showcase their company's capabilities, and also cultivate connections within the Greater New Orleans business community.

"We will have bakers, advertising and marketing professionals, contractors, manufacturers, web and technology service providers, waste management and cleaning services, and many, many more," said Barbra Barnett, an attorney from Stone Pigman law firm. "Many of these businesses have exhibited at the expo in years past and have done business with contacts that they met through the expo. We are excited to have them back again to join us for the expo and to introduce them to even more networking opportunities."

During the expo, some of the region's industry leaders will engage in SpeedNetworking sessions with registered exhibitors. These short, pre-arranged meetings allow prospective vendors or subcontractors to learn the specific needs, requirements and opportunities to work with the top businesses in the Greater New Orleans area. A few of the industry leaders expected to be in attendance at this year's expo include Cox Communications, Inc., Laitram, LLC, Audubon Nature Institute, J.M. Smucker Co., and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

"Our company participated in the Louisiana's Got Talent Expo last year and experienced a great return on our time invested. The expo is set up to offer participants the opportunity to both exhibit and have pre-arranged speed networking appointments with some of the area's largest companies," said Nenette Gray, CEO of Lemonade Creative Marketing. "We benefited greatly from our participation and have gained ongoing business from two major companies. We're counting down to exhibiting again this year and look forward to fostering more long term relationships."

The event will be capped off with a catered cocktail reception for further networking among registered expo participants and ACG Louisiana members.

"ACG Louisiana is excited to host the fifth annual expo," said Barbra Barnett, chair of the ACG Louisiana's Business Community Outreach Committee. "The idea behind ACG Louisiana’s Business Community Outreach Program is to help foster sustained growth of the local economy. The expo offers local, small businesses opportunities to build relationships within the Greater New Orleans business community to enable them to organically build and grow capacity as the economy continues to develop.”

The event is co-sponsored by the New Orleans Business Alliance, Harrah's New Orleans Hotel and Casino, the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program and the GoodWork Network. ACG Louisiana expects to have hundreds of people in attendance. Event sponsors, ACG Louisiana members, and the public can circulate among the exhibit tables, learning about the excellent small businesses operating in the New Orleans business community, many of whom are minority or women-owned.
